When working in stone you always have to deal with the weight of the material, which means that making something in a larger format quickly requires additional facilities, such as a hoist or crane. If I start a somewhat larger sculpture myself (note, everything is relative), I calculate in advance the maximum weight of the stone so that I can handle it alone in my studio, without special tools.
The starting weight of these white marbles was approximately 90 kilos each.
This sculpture is a combination of figuration and abstraction. You can clearly associate them with two figures, interacting with each other. But the abstraction is such that there is no real similarity, it is more the association that it evokes.
The nice thing is that each arrangement expresses a different 'conversation': bent towards each other, or turned in the same direction, close to each other or with distance.
The height is about 90 cm, so they are quite large, although this is not very visible in the photos. I want to take photos again at a location where the size is better visible.
