This piece of stone (German muschelkalk) was so beautifully broken, with all those little shells, I couldn't pass it up. The stainless steel makes it into a square block again, a bit like putting a line / frame around it on paper. It’s playing with squares within squares. But also with the combination of the gray metal (stainless steel) and the soft earth color of the stone, smooth and rough.
The material of this sculpture is weather resistant, but will lose its clarity if left outside for a long time.
